Our brain is incredible—it can actually grow and change every time we learn something new. That's called neuroplasticity.

I want to show you how to tap into this amazing power with simple ways to boost your memory, focus, and creativity.

About Me

Hi! I'm Rishika, and I'm an avid athlete who's totally fascinated by how we learn and grow – especially when it comes to our brains. Being a teen is wild, right?

There's so much happening, and sometimes it feels like we're just supposed to figure everything out. That's why I started EmpowerHerEdge.com.

I aspire to be a physician, and as someone who has seen a close family member experience Alzheimer's, I understand how incredibly tough it can be on families.

Since there's no cure for diseases like that, it made me think: why not try our best to protect our brains now by enhancing neuroplasticity?

Rishikha's Research

My research and passion for neuroscience dive into how we can all tap into this amazing ability to literally make our brains stronger, sharper, and healthier.

I'm also looking at how sleep helps your brain clean itself out through something called the glymphatic system. I'm especially interested in how poor sleep might mess up this process and cause a buildup of proteins linked to Alzheimer's disease. By studying existing research, I'm hoping to figure out if getting better sleep could be a simple way to help prevent or slow down Alzheimer's. This vital info about neuroplasticity and long-term brain health needs to get out there for everyone!

I'm currently working on this research under the tutelage of Prof. Jobin Varkey from the University of Southern California.
